                                                     Accidents

        “I thought he said he’ll be back in ten minutes.”

        “The Doctor will be back soon Rory, just give him a few more minutes.”

        Rory rolled his eyes as he sat down on the steps of the control room in the TARDIS. He watched Amy lean on the console, her arms crossed with impatience. They had been waiting in the control room for twenty minutes because the Doctor couldn’t find a fuse to replace the one he had just broken.

        Amy sighed, “You’re glaring.”

        ”I am not! I was thinking!”

        “About?” She raised an eyebrow to her husband.

        Rory groaned, this is how their conversations have gone the last few days. He didn’t think it mattered and shook his head.

        Now Amy was curios. She walked over and sat down next to him, being the flirt she could be she knew a few tricks to get men talking. Amy watched Rory tense up as she touched his hand.

        He looked away, “I’m not going to say anything so don’t act all sweet.”

        With a sly grin she grabbed him and gave him a hard kiss.

        “Liar.” She grinned at his startled look.

        But instead of kissing her back, Rory pushed her and stood up groaning, “Why do you always do that! I’m not like him…”

        “Like who?”

         “The damn Doctor! Don’t act like you don’t-” He stopped midsentence realizing his mistake before she slapped him.

        Amy glared, “What did you say? Are you saying I flirt with him?”

        “Yes! I mean no! I just-“

        She slapped him again.

        “Ow! He rubbed his cheek gingerly. He honestly didn’t mean to let it slip, it was an accident. He whined, “Amy…”

        She stepped away from him. What he had just said hurt. A few mistakes in the past, but she changed and married the man in front of her. And she loved him! How could he now say what he had just said?

        “Amelia…” Rory begged, “I didn’t mean it like that! It was an accident!”

        “An accident!” She scoffed. “Then what the hell did you mean?” She circled the TARDIS console.

        “I don’t know Amy!” Rory cried. “I just thought of how you would act with him.”  He walked around the opposite side.

        “So you still think I do?” She was almost yelling, holding back tears.  She stopped circling.

        “No! But I watch you now. How you act around him! As if I don’t exist when you two are together.” He stopped as well, and stood across from her.

        Amy’s voice was almost a whisper, “You think I still love him?” She watched him nod. ” But what about all those times he wanted to leave me for the greater good! And you made him come back to get me. Or when you would die, and the Doctor said there was nothing left? I chose to stay and bring you back! I love you more than I could ever imagine, more than the doctor, more than anything!”

        Rory watched her close her eyes, tears streaming down her cheek. He walked over to her and pulled her into his arms. He loved her, and he will continue trying to prove his love for her. But he gets scared sometimes, and he needed reassurances from little accidents like these.

        She felt him lean down and kiss her hair. She wanted to stay like this forever, but minutes later the Doctor returned. And they found that reality must return as well. No matter how beautiful, or sad, life, and accidents are.
